Emily K. Lavery

Emily Lavery is a government affairs advisor and member of the Public Policy and Law practice group. Emily has experience coordinating closely with Members of Congress, senior staff, and federal regulators to advance client objectives, develop legislative and regulatory strategies, and provide insight into policy developments. She has designed and implemented strategic plans to influence federal policy, briefed clients on legislative and regulatory changes, and organized events for c-suite executives and policymakers to support advocacy initiatives.

Prior to joining the firm, Emily served as a senior vice president at a public affairs firm, where she led Senate Republican legislative affairs, engagement, and advocacy efforts and served as the chief tax policy director and Republican lead for banking and judiciary policy. She represented a wide range of clients before Congress and the Administration on matters involving federal tax, trade, and financial services policy, and developed and executed legislative, regulatory, and political strategies to advance client objectives. 

Earlier in her career, she served as a legislative assistant and staff director for US Senator Tim Scott, including as staff director for the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Energy, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure, where she advised on tax and trade policy, supported the development and passage of legislation, and worked with federal agencies on policy implementation and stakeholder engagement. She also previously served as a vice president at a private wealth management firm, where she managed client relationships and provided analysis on capital markets, federal tax policy, and macroeconomic developments.
