Raef J. Cogan

Raef Cogan is an associate in the firm’s Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice. He advises clients on a broad range of labor and employment matters, from day-to-day counseling and pre-litigation dispute resolution to active litigation and traditional labor issues.

Raef counsels clients on wage and hour compliance, EDD audits, worker classification, and the drafting of employment documents, including policies, employment contracts, arbitration agreements, and severance agreements. He also advises clients on how to avoid discrimination, harassment, and retaliation issues.

His litigation experience spans single-plaintiff employment matters, such as FEHA claims, as well as class and representative actions involving wage and hour violations and PAGA claims. Across all matters, Raef focuses on delivering practical, solution-oriented advice aligned with clients’ business objectives.

Prior to joining the firm, Raef was an associate at a regional, California-based law firm. Through this role, he communicated with clients to gather information, managed junior associates, developed defense strategy, and spearheaded discovery efforts. He also has counseled clients on traditional labor issues, as well as on all aspects of California and federal employment laws.
