Dooyong Kang

Dooyong Kang is a partner in the firm's Tokyo office. He is a Registered Foreign Lawyer in Japan and licensed in New York, New Jersey, Illinois, and District of Columbia. His practice focuses on the wide range of cross-border transactions, in particular cross-border M&A, joint venture and strategic alliance, joint R&D, technology license, manufacturing and supply arrangement, and distribution arrangements. Having practiced in both the United States and Japan as a US licensed attorney, Dooyong represents major Japanese and non-Japanese corporations in various industries and business sectors, including automotive (in particular, electric vehicles and auto parts), construction machinery, fashion and lifestyle brands, cosmetics, and food products. Dooyong has significant experience in representing major manufacturers of automotive products and construction machinery and equipment in connection with cross-border joint venture and strategic alliance, contract manufacturing, technology license, and global OEM supply arrangement as well as joint R&D arrangement, covering various territories around the world, including the United States, Asia, Europe, and Middle East. He has also represented a major Japanese trading company in various cross-border acquisitions, joint venture and strategic alliance, license and distributorship, franchise, e-commerce, and dispute matters concerning famous fashion, accessory, food and beverage, and cosmetics brands in various territories around the world. As a member of the firm's Tokyo office, he is actively involved in various inbound and outbound matters concerning Japan, South Korea, and the United States. He is a native Korean speaker and is fluent in both Japanese and English.
