Elisabeth M. Lewis

Elisabeth Lewis is an associate in the firm’s Health Care and FDA practice group. Elisabeth has experience advising clients on regulatory requirements for foods, dietary supplements, cosmetics, and food packaging. Her experience includes counseling companies on advertising and labeling requirements, including claim substantiation, nutrition labeling, and environmental claims. She also provides guidance regarding compliance with US Department of Agriculture regulations, including the Bioengineered Labeling rules and organic rules. In addition to providing food regulatory guidance, Elisabeth advises clients on regulatory requirements for pharmaceuticals, biologics, and medical devices.

In addition to regulatory compliance advice, Elisabeth counsels clients facing enforcement actions, recalls, and threats of litigation, and has experience with complex insurance coverage disputes under product recall and contamination, directors and officers, representations and warranties, and other standard business and liability policies.

Elisabeth brings a distinct perspective to her practice with her public health-focused background in environmental science and policy and earth resource management.

Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Elisabeth served as a summer associate working primarily with the health care and FDA team. She was also previously a summer associate in the South Carolina offices of international and national law firms. During this time, she conducted researched in the areas of construction defect law, False Claims Act (FCA) claims, and medical device litigation. Elisabeth drafted motions and memoranda filed in both state and federal court, attended and assisted with preparation for depositions and mediations.
