The Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed a number of significant changes affecting investment advisers and funds, including:

  • Modernizing the regulatory framework for interval funds and other closed-end funds;
  • Permitting performance fees for registered investment companies;
  • Expanding the accredited investor definition; and
  • Modernizing the custody rules for investment advisers and regulated funds, including new rules addressing the custody of crypto assets.

This webinar includes firm partners for an unscripted discussion of these proposals, what they would change, and what they may signal about the SEC’s broader regulatory agenda for investment management. This won’t simply be a rundown of what the proposals say. Instead, you’ll hear directly from our practitioners about what they think the proposals could mean for the industry, the opportunities and challenges they may create, and, critically, what investment advisers and fund managers should be watching as the SEC’s agenda takes shape.
