K&L Gates Partner Pallavi Mehta Wahi Recognized as 2024 MCCA Rainmaker
Global law firm K&L Gates LLP congratulates Pallavi Mehta Wahi, the managing partner of the Seattle office and co-managing partner of the United States for K&L Gates, on her selection to the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s (MCCA) 2024 Rainmakers list. The 16 lawyers recognized on this year’s list are “exceptional attorneys whose business acumen, passion, and dedication to consistent client development have set them apart as leaders in the legal profession.”
The 2024 Rainmakers were selected from a prominent group of lawyers with a proven record, over the course of several years, of compiling books of business exceeding $5 million annually and who have contributed significantly to their communities.
Serving in multiple firm leadership roles, Wahi has been instrumental in advocating for Diversity and Inclusion at K&L Gates. Under her leadership the firm implemented many policies and initiatives focused on inclusive culture, including internal firm and leadership trainings and a firmwide D&I speaker series (Conversations about Race) focused on the lingering effects of inequality and systemic racism in our society. Additionally, Wahi was instrumental in the launch of the firm’s robust US-wide D&I mentorship program, which has been well received by the firm’s diverse associates and partners. She has paved the way for women rainmakers in building a practice at the firm on the journey from an associate to a firm leader and equity partner.
Wahi also serves in different business roles in the community. In 2022, she was appointed to the Seattle Branch Board of Directors of The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco to represent the interests of the 12th Reserve District and help the board fulfill its policy and operational responsibilities. She also has served as the chair of the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce Board and is a passionate advocate for the Seattle business community and the people and companies who help it thrive.
“We’re proud of Pallavi’s selection to the MCCA’s 2024 Rainmakers list,” said Jim Segerdahl, global managing partner of K&L Gates. “With her practice, Pallavi has built an incredible career by fostering strong relationships through shared perspectives. Her leadership at K&L Gates inspires others to get involved and make impactful changes for the betterment of the firm, our clients, and our community. She understands the business of law and pairs them with our values for the benefit of our clients and community.”
Wahi frequently represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters and works closely with many Fortune 50 corporations and other companies worldwide, representing their interests with an emphasis on corporate and technology issues.
Wahi’s receipt of the 2024 MCCA Rainmakers award follows the inclusion of Research Triangle Park partner Mary Beth Johnston and Portland partner Brendan Gutierrez McDonnell among MCCA’s Rainmakers in the past several years. The 2024 MCCA Rainmakers will be honored at MCAA’s annual in-person Creating Pathways to Diversity Conference and Diversity Gala taking place in September.
The MCCA is committed to advancing the hiring, retention, and promotion of diverse lawyers in law departments and law firms by providing research, best practices, professional development, and training; and through pipeline initiatives. It is one of numerous diversity-related programs K&L Gates sponsors or supports, including the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL), the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), the National Bar Association (NBA), the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association, and Diversity Council Australia.
