Matthew J. Manning

Matthew J. Manning is an associate at the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He is a member of the Public Policy and Law practice group.

Prior to joining the firm, Matthew served as the Legislative Director to U.S. Congressman Jimmy Panetta (CA-20). In addition to his legislative oversight duties, he was the Congressman’s chief advisor on the Armed Services Committee and covered the defense, intelligence, foreign affairs, homeland security, and veterans’ affairs portfolios. He also advised the Congressman on issues pertaining to the member’s Ways & Means Committee and Agriculture Committee responsibilities.

Matthew has also previously served in the Department of Defense, the U.S. Senate, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Matthew is an honorary Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska, the state’s highest civic honor.

He is also an alumni of the National Endowment for Democracy fellowship program, the Atlantic Council Eurasia fellowship program, and the Partnership for a Secure America fellowship program.

Matthew serves on the board of the Creighton University Washington, DC Alumni Association.
