COVID-19: Virtual Town Hall on PPP Eligibility and Risks for Nonprofit Organizations

KL Gates Hosted Event
Date: 12 May 2020

Nonprofit organizations considering loans under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) are wrestling with recent Treasury and SBA guidance regarding eligibility for those loans and how proceeds can be used. Secretary Mnuchin has threatened "severe consequences" for borrowers who improperly receive or use a PPP loan.

Our CARES Act Task Force in conjunction with our pro bono committee and lawyers from our tax-exempt organizations and investigation, enforcement, and white collar practices are hosting a Virtual Town Hall discussion for these nonprofits. Together, they will analyze the most recent guidance and the legal, reputational, and other risks and considerations facing nonprofit organizations deciding whether to apply for or keep a PPP loan and, if so, how to use the proceeds.

If you would like to discuss the webinar topics in more detail or have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the speakers, and they will be pleased to discuss them with you.
