K&L Gates Enhances Asset Management Practice With London Partner Addition
London – Global law firm K&L Gates welcomes Marianna Tothova as a partner in its Asset Management and Investment Fund practice. She joins the firm’s London office from Dechert LLP and is dual qualified in the UK and Luxembourg.
Tothova focuses her practice on private funds investing in various asset classes, with a particular emphasis on debt and private equity for both first-time and well-established managers. She advises on Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (UCITS), European Long-Term Investment Funds (ELTIF), and other retail funds and, generally, on fund and asset management – related regulatory compliance, including AIFMD II, loan origination and securitization.
With nearly two decades of experience, Tothova advises clients on the structuring, merging, and liquidation of investment funds, management companies, investor negotiations and fund financing. She has previously written about financial industry trends with a particular focus on credit funds.
Paul Callegari, managing partner of K&L Gates’ London office, said: “We are delighted to welcome Marianna. Her experience, market knowledge and practical, solutions-oriented approach aligns perfectly with the needs of our clients in London and beyond. Her dual qualification in the UK and Luxembourg further strengthens our ability to advise clients on credit funds, which is a key strategic priority for the firm.”
“Marianna is a strong addition to our global practice,” said Clair Pagnano, leader of the firm’s global Asset Management and Investment Funds practice area. “Her work with private funds investing in various asset classes and her technical fluency will be a tremendous asset to our clients and our team. Her arrival reinforces our commitment to delivering sophisticated, cross-border counsel to clients navigating today’s complex regulatory landscape.”
Tothova’s addition follows other strategic hires to the firm’s Asset Management and Investment Funds practice and reflects K&L Gates’ ongoing investment in building a globally integrated team to meet the needs of clients around the world. Most recently, Susanna Güven joined the firm’s Luxembourg office as counsel. In the last year New York partners Robert Leonard and Derek Lacarrubba, Milan partner Eusapia Simone, and Chicago partner Sarah Riddell have joined the global Asset Management and Investment Fund practice.
