
Marius Toime
Marius Toime is a member of our Corporate and Energy, Infrastructure and Resources practices. He has 20 years of experience advising clients in the energy, renewables, upstream oil and gas/LNG, industrial, and resources industries throughout Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
Marius is a strategic advisor valued for his ability to navigate complex negotiations and offer commercially focused, pragmatic advice. He is recognized for his grasp of the commercial drivers behind transactions, his understanding of deal dynamics, and for crafting workable solutions that help close deals.
He has extensive experience advising companies on asset and share sale and purchase agreements, joint venture and shareholder arrangements, long term offtake agreements, production sharing contracts, master sale and purchase agreements, time charterparties, shipbuilding contracts, derivatives and commodities contracts (including ISDA Master Agreements and related documentation), EPC contracts, charterparties, project development agreements, and master framework agreements for the supply of energy related goods and services. He has worked with nonprofit organizations and charities on structuring, governance, funding, and regulatory compliance in Singapore and Indonesia.
Marius has advised on a broad spectrum of corporate finance transactions, distressed transactions convertible or exchangeable bonds, pre-export finance transactions, and sale and leaseback transactions. He has substantial experience in Indonesia, having both lived and worked there as a qualified Foreign Legal Consultant (Konsultan Hukum Asing). He is dual-qualified in England and Singapore, giving him the flexibility to operate effectively across multiple jurisdictions.
Marius’ sector experience includes carbon solutions (carbon capture, trading and energy transition), data centers and energy-intensive infrastructure, ESG, renewables, oil and gas, LNG, energy finance, offshore wind energy, power generation and transmission, manufacturing and distribution, and maritime.
Prior to joining the firm, Marius practiced law in the energy, environment and infrastructure group of an international law firm in Singapore and Jakarta.

Marius is a member of the Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore and is a committee member of the Corporate Practice Committee of the Law Society of Singapore, which addresses matters relating to corporate practice in Singapore. He sits on the Climate Change Focus Group of the British Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia and is a member of the ESG Working Group of the Law Society of Singapore. Formerly a non-executive director of community charity, We Care Community Services Limited and chair of the Built Environment Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce in Singapore. Marius actively participates as a pro bono legal advisor for community law.

Prior to joining the firm, Marius was a partner at an international law firm focusing his practice on energy, environment, and infrastructure. Marius has over 15 years‘ experience acting on a broad range of projects and other transactional matters in the Asia Pacific region. His recent experience includes advising on a range of structuring, project development, merger and acquisition, and financing mandates across the oil and gas, LNG, renewables, mining, and infrastructure sectors.
