Claire Hansen Suni provides strategic transactional advice to a wide variety of US and international clients. Her practice focuses on complex mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and other corporate matters.
Claire has over a decade of transactional experience serving clients across many industries, but is particularly active in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors. She regularly executes deals involving investments in solar, wind, biogas and other energy projects at all stages of development, construction and operation. Additionally, Claire's practice includes representing corporate and institutional purchasers of carbon removals directly from the owners and operators of carbon capture and sequestration projects. She has advised on some of the largest-ever carbon removal offtake deals by volume to date.
Claire is part of the firm's Mergers and Acquisitions practice, which has been recognized with numerous awards including being named the 2024 and 2022 Corporate Law Firm of the Year and ranked as National Tier 1 since 2010 in the U.S. News – Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms” report.
Claire is actively involved in the development of young lawyers, particularly women, and she is a member of the firm's Women in the Profession Committee. She has spoken on multiple panels about women in the legal profession, including at Harvard Law School and Columbia University.
Claire received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2013, where she served as Submissions Editor and Primary Editor of the Harvard Human Rights Journal. In addition to her law degree, Claire holds a Masters in Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is a former fellow of the Chayes International Public Service Program and received the Karin Stromberg Award for Contributions to Social Justice.
