Private Credit Funds: Conquering Tax Challenges for Foreign Investors

KL Gates Hosted Event
Date: 28 July 2020

Private credit has over the past several years been one of most attractive asset strategies for institutional investors. Recent events are driving demand for private credit even higher. Many private credit strategies involve the origination of loans by U.S.-based fund sponsors. At the same time, private credit attracts strong interest from foreign investors that require solutions to U.S. tax challenges. Deploying foreign capital in private credit on a tax-efficient basis requires thoughtful structuring solutions and careful planning.

This interactive series of webinars explores private credit fund and tax structures which are ripe for the current environment.

Session 1: Overview and Practical Considerations

Session 2: Common Strategies (Leverage Blocker, Season and Sell, and Treaty)

Session 3: Less Common Strategies (REITS, IDFS, and more)

Michael W. McGrath, Yasho Lahiri, Edward Dartley
