Tom Wallace is a partner in the corporate and transactional practice group.
Tom advises on a broad range of transactions, including public and private fundraisings, public and private acquisitions, joint ventures and private equity and venture capital investments.
Tom has experience acting for leading global corporations, capital markets participants and ambitious mid-market and emerging high-growth companies in a range of sectors, including, in particular, financial services and technology. In particular, Tom leverages K&L Gates's global platform to advise high-growth technology businesses on raising capital and expanding their businesses globally.
Tom is recognized by Chambers UK as “Up and Coming” in the area of Corporate/M&A: Mid-Market where he has been noted for his corporate finance, acquisitions and cross-border mergers advice. In 2018, Chambers UK notes that “Tom Wallace is considered ‘one of the best young partners in the City’ by clients, who continue to laud his very calm and very pragmatic demeanour” and, in 2017, Chambers UK noted that “Tom is described by clients as being ‘very pragmatic and practical in helping find workable solutions.’”
Tom has advised on over 50 completed and disclosed public and private corporate acquisitions, investments and disposals with an aggregate consideration of approximately $5 billion.
Tom has advised on over 47 completed transactions on the equity capital markets. Tom advises issuers, underwriters, nominated advisers and brokers on Main Market and AIM IPOs, associated and secondary fundraisings, corporate transactions and continuing obligations, with a particular focus on U.S. issuers accessing the UK markets and UK issuers and capital markets participants accessing U.S. investors.
Prior to joining the firm, Tom worked in the legal department of Ashanti Goldfields Corporation in Accra, Ghana.
Tom qualified as a lawyer in 2006.
Tom has given pro bono advice to The Citizen Organising Foundation, Medical Aid Films, Tourism for All, British Rowing and Bliss on various corporate, commercial and governance matters.
