Matt Miller

Matthew S. Miller (Matt) is a nationally recognized lawyer in the Healthcare and Mergers and Acquisitions practice groups. He has substantial experience in large and complex mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and venture capital transactions. His practice focuses on healthcare services and technology, two of the largest and fastest-growing sectors of the United States economy.

Matt has repeatedly been recognized in his field. He was named as one of the top “40 Under 40” in a national-ranking by Bloomberg Law and has been consistently recognized in The Best Lawyers in America®.

Matt has led significant transactions for some of the largest health systems and Fortune 500 companies in the United States. He has represented both buyers and sellers in hundreds of deals with an aggregate value measured in the tens of billions of dollars. In the healthcare industry, he regularly works with academic medical centers, hospitals, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, management services organizations, senior living companies, home care providers, medical device manufacturers, technology companies, durable medical equipment suppliers, and value-based care enterprises.  

In addition, Matt routinely assists private equity sponsors and venture capital investors with fund formation, equity financings, and portfolio company management. His significant background in corporate governance, securities law, and regulatory matters makes him a trusted advisor on deal structuring and legal strategy.

Matt is a frequent author and speaker on issues affecting healthcare, private equity, and the general business and legal communities. His commentary and writings have appeared in publications such as Bloomberg Law, Law 360, the Nashville Business Journal, and Thompson Reuters’ Health Law Handbook. Matt is also a recurring guest on podcasts and has hosted several episodes “Triage” – a podcast produced by K&L Gates which focusing on cutting-edge issues in the healthcare industry.

Matt’s father and grandfather practiced general surgery in Tennessee and Mississippi for a combined total of almost 90 years.

Prior to embarking on a legal career, Matt served his country as an officer in the United States Naval Reserve.
