Matt Miller

Matt Miller is a nationally recognized corporate and healthcare transactions lawyer. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, equity investments, joint ventures, and strategic business reorganizations. He has significant experience representing clients in highly regulated environments, including matters implicating antitrust, compliance (including Stark/AKS), government contracting and licensure. His clients include academic medical centers, ambulatory surgery centers, hospital systems, management services organizations, physician practices, and other public and private companies. Matt also has substantial experience representing private equity investors and their portfolio companies in corporate governance, fund formation, securities compliance, and venture capital transactions, including convertible debt, equity financings and incentive-based compensation.

Matt has been consistently recognized in his field. He was named to Bloomberg Law's top “40 Under 40” in a national ranking and has been consistently recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® for Corporate and Health Care Law. Matt is also a frequent author and speaker on legal and business issues, and his legal commentary and writings have appeared in publications such as Bloomberg Law, Law 360, Nashville Business Journal, and Thompson Reuters' Health Law Handbook (2025). 

Matt's father and grandfather practiced general surgery in Tennessee for over 90 years collectively. Similarly, Matt began his service career as an officer in the United States Navy and Navy Reserve.  Following the conclusion of his military career, Matt began practicing law at another prestigious law firm in New York before returning to his home state of Tennessee. He is a founding partner of the Nashville office.
