K&L Gates Strengthens Corporate Practice With M&A Partner in Frankfurt
Frankfurt – Global law firm K&L Gates welcomes Nils Rahlf to its Frankfurt office as a Corporate partner. He joins from Norton Rose Fulbright.
Rahlf has more than 25 years of experience advising strategic investors on cross-border and domestic M&A transactions. He also advises on private equity and venture capital transactions as well as corporate and group law matters. His clients are particularly active in the digital media, technology, financial services, consumer goods, and life sciences sectors. With the addition of Rahlf, the firm further expands its M&A offering for industrial companies while providing additional momentum to its pan-European Corporate practice.
“By welcoming Nils, we are strengthening our M&A practice precisely in an area where we already have a significant market position and substantial experience: complex cross-border transactions for multinational industrial companies,” said Dr. Thomas Lappe, practice area leader for the firm’s Corporate practice. “We intend to continue expanding our presence in the M&A market in Germany and across Europe.”
The firm’s strategy places particular emphasis on closely integrating its European teams with its global platform to advise clients seamlessly on cross-border matters.
“Germany is a key market for our global Corporate practice,” noted Dr. Martina Ortner, Co-Managing Partner, Germany. “In Nils, we are gaining an experienced transactional lawyer whose capabilities and internationally oriented practice are an excellent fit for our platform.”
Rahlf is the latest in K&L Gates’ strategic investment in its European platform with the recent addition of intellectual property partners Dr. Christian Wende and Markus Eustermann and their seven person team in Munich, aviation finance partner Andrew Harper, data partner Sarah Pearce, and asset management and investment funds partner Marianna Tothova in London, as well as international arbitration partner Maria Kostytska in Paris. Rahlf and Pearce also build on the global momentum of hires to the firm’s Corporate practice this year including Dallas partner Patrick Knapp, and Hong Kong partners Yang Wang and Guiping Lu.
K&L Gates’ Corporate practice is one of the most substantial in the legal industry, with hundreds of lawyers assisting clients in the structuring, financing, and completion of domestic, international, and cross-border transactions. The group serves as counsel to a broad array of Global 500, Fortune 100, FTSE 100 corporations, privately held and venture-backed companies, partnerships, private equity firms, other investment funds, management groups, and entrepreneurs.
