Employment Disputes and Investigations

Recent trends have shown that the types of employment claims being filed parallel current cultural and social sentiments. For example, the percentage of cases involving sexual harassment has increased significantly, which may be directly correlated to the multitude of high profile cases and anecdotes exposed in the media. Not only are the types of lawsuits changing direction, but the size of damage awards is also growing, making the need for practical, cost-conscious, and experienced defense counsel more important than ever.

As a management-side practice, our seasoned trial lawyers have the experience and judgment to effectively resolve cases to minimize the time, resources, and expense of going to court, or implement strategies that will increase the likelihood of a favorable outcome when cases do go to trial.

Our Employment Disputes and Investigations lawyers, spanning our offices across the globe, have significant experience defending all types of employment litigation, including retaliation, discrimination, harassment, disability, whistleblower claims, enforcement of non-competition agreements, and wage and hour class actions. We have extensive trial experience. Our lawyers appear before government agencies, courts, tribunals, and in alternative dispute forums.

We handle cases from the threat of litigation to conclusion, including individual actions as well as the most complex collective and class actions. As our world has evolved into an information-based economy, and employee mobility has proliferated, our significant experience with tech businesses along with our lawyers’ technical sophistication has made us exceptionally well-suited to litigate employment matters with considerable intellectual property rights issues.

With government agencies globally playing an increasing role in enforcing employment regulations, we assist clients in response to investigations and audits, frequently resolving issues before further action is initiated. Should an employer face administrative action initiated by any of the agencies charged with enforcing employment law, we have demonstrated success in challenging and winning these disputes. Our agency experience includes matters relating to worker classification, wage and hour, disability, discrimination, and more.
